LG GD880 Mini
March 8th, 2010LG is joining the shrinking trend offer mini versions of some of their handsets as well. This one includes a touch screen, 3.5G network connectivity and a lot more. The phone packs a lot of touch screen into it with very limited space surrounding the screen itself (mostly at top and bottom). There have been some reports about lag in the touch screen but these are unconfirmed at present by Cell Phone Reviews.
Also features a very blocky construction.

HTC HD Mini
March 8th, 2010The HTC HD Mini is a mini version of their HD2. It
shrinks down some features to fit it into a smaller handset. Most noticeable is the 1.1″ difference in touch screen size (4.3″ on the HD2). Most of the other features fit right into the smaller version including the fast data connections and Wi-Fi capabilities.
Samsung Diva S7070
March 8th, 2010Bringing some fashion to the mobile phone market is the new Samsung Diva S7070. Samsung stepped back from the standard black coloring for mobile phones and instead went with a white quilted look on this new touch phone. But is it a shallow representation? They stripped out some functionality of a standard smartphone, perhaps they think women don’t need Wi-Fi?

Microsoft Windows Phone 7 Series
March 5th, 2010Microsoft is getting its mobile operating system out in its very own phone. Since the launch of the iPhone Windows Mobile has been suffering for numerous reasons (UI being a major one). Now they’re taking it to their major competitor and bringing out a phone of their own (made by ASUS).
At least it will be branded Windows from what we have seen.
The major change to the Operating system is the use of what they are calling Hubs or specific areas of the phone for specific things – Games, Office, etc. The OS will incorporate Xbox LIVE Games, MS LIVE, Zune, Internet Explorer, Bing and Outlook (of course). According to the recent demo video it will be a combination of scrolling and tapping to access the menus as opposed to the old Windows-like icons and interface that almost required a stylus. The new interface addresses the one-app-at-a-time problem that many others have been criticized for by allowing you to peek in on everything right from the main interface screen without having to close one and open another. PUMA PHONE
March 5th, 2010Yes, it’s a phone from Puma, the athletic wear company. Yes, it’s actually PUMA PHONE (all caps) and it’s made by Sagem. It features a built in solar panel for charging and of course a very noticeable Puma logo. They’ve also taken a more tongue-in-cheek approach to the interface with a sarcastic calculator, a digital puma and a turntable so you can scratch and mix your MP3s. Read the rest of this entry »
