Microsoft Windows Phone 7 Series

Friday, March 5th, 2010

Microsoft is getting its mobile operating system out in its very own phone. Since the launch of the iPhone Windows Mobile has been suffering for numerous reasons (UI being a major one). Now they’re taking it to their major competitor and bringing out a phone of their own (made by ASUS).windows phone 7 games hub 300x253 Microsoft Windows Phone 7 Series At least it will be branded Windows from what we have seen.

The major change to the Operating system is the use of what they are calling Hubs or specific areas of the phone for specific things – Games, Office, etc.  The OS will incorporate Xbox LIVE Games, MS LIVE, Zune, Internet Explorer, Bing and Outlook (of course). According to the recent demo video it will be a combination of scrolling and tapping to access the menus as opposed to the old Windows-like icons and interface that almost required a stylus. The only thing we know for sure is that the iPhone is a gadget lover’s dream.
